VASCULAR SURGERY |
 |
Endoscopic techniques were introduced late into vascular surgery compared to General or Gastro intestinal operations.
Today, endoscopic (or Minimally Invasive) techniques can be used to harvest saphenous veins for peripheral bypass procedures, to perform endoscopic venous perforator surgery or to perform lumbar or thoracic sympathectomies.
Other vascular procedures that are performed by Vascular Surgeons at Apollo Hospitals include total or laparoscopy assisted aortic operations either in patients with occlusive disease or laparoscopic aneurysm repair.
Endovascular or “pinhole surgery” techniques include, stenting and dilatation of blocked arteries, blocking of arterial / venous fistulas and grafting of aneurysms.
